Best E-Learning Tools For Managers Who Need To Train Staff Faster

Staff training is essential. But it often occurs outside the workflow, and here we outline five development tools that speed up the process.

Most staff training doesn’t start in a boardroom: it starts when a manager notices the same mistake for the third time. A new starter follows an old process. A customer service rep gives the wrong answer. A team member forgets one safety step because the update was mentioned once in a meeting and then buried in an email.

Managers usually know what needs fixing. The harder part is turning that knowledge into something the team can use before the problem spreads.

This ZandaX article shows how that’s where the right e-learning tool helps. Not because every issue needs a big course, but because small training gaps need a better home than a rushed message or another PDF.

What Fast Staff Training Really Needs

A manager does not always need a glossy course with animations and a long voiceover.

Often, the need is much more basic. Explain the process clearly. Add a few examples. Check that people understood it. Update the lesson when the process changes. Make sure the training can sit inside the company’s LMS if the business already uses one.

CIPD also notes that line managers are well placed to support their team’s skills development, which is why training tools need to work for managers, not only L&D teams.

The tool should help with ordinary work problems:
  • Onboarding a new employee
  • Explaining a product change
  • Fixing a repeated customer service mistake
  • Refreshing a compliance step
  • Curning a manager’s notes into a short lesson
  • Checking if staff understood the training
That last part matters. Staff may read a document and still do the task wrong. A short quiz, scenario, or practice question can show where the confusion is.

1. Easygenerator

Easygenerator works well when training knowledge is already inside the business, but not yet shaped into proper learning.

That is common in most teams. A sales manager knows the objections that keep coming up. HR knows which onboarding questions new staff ask in week one. A product owner knows what changed in the latest update. A compliance lead knows which steps people skip when they are busy.

Those people may not be training designers, but they know the work.

That is why an e-learning authoring tool for workplace training fits this kind of staff development. Easygenerator helps subject matter experts and L&D teams turn notes, documents, decks, and internal knowledge into e-learning courses with AI support. It can also publish to an LMS and export SCORM.

Working together on a course

For a manager, the useful part is the speed and control. A short process fix does not have to wait for a full course build. A product update can become a lesson while the information is still fresh. A repeated mistake can become a quick refresher with a check at the end.

That kind of speed matters because SHRM has reported that training aids retention and recruitment, especially when employees can see that the business is investing in their development.

2. Articulate 360

Articulate 360 is better when the business wants a more designed learning experience.

It gives course designers room to build polished modules with branching, interactions, media, and custom layouts. That can suit leadership programs, customer-facing training, or longer development courses where the presentation matters.

For a manager trying to train staff quickly, that strength can also become the slow part. A bigger build needs more planning. Someone has to design the flow, write the content, check the interactions, and maintain the course later.

Articulate 360 makes sense when the training deserves that level of design. It may not be the easiest choice for a quick staff update that needs to go live this week.

3. iSpring Suite

iSpring Suite is useful for teams that already have a lot of PowerPoint material.

Many managers do. Old induction slides, product notes, HR updates, sales training decks, process walkthroughs, and workshop files often sit in folders for years. Some of that content is still worth saving.

iSpring can turn those slides into online courses and quizzes, which can be practical when a team wants to reuse what it already has.

The problem is that old slides often need more than a new format. A deck that worked in a live session may feel thin online because the trainer is no longer there to explain the missing parts. Staff may click through and still not know what to do next.

Training course in action

iSpring works best when managers treat PowerPoint as the starting material, then add examples, checks, and clearer instructions.

4. Adobe Captivate

Adobe Captivate is useful when the training involves software, systems, or screen-based tasks.

This can matter for managers training staff on a CRM, finance system, reporting dashboard, support platform, or internal tool. Reading the steps is not always enough. Staff may need to see the screen, follow a process, and understand what happens if they choose the wrong option.

Captivate can build simulations and interactive lessons for that kind of work.

It is less natural for simple business training. If the task is explaining a policy change, a new sales message, or a customer service standard, a lighter tool may be faster. Captivate is strongest when the learner needs to practice inside a process, not just understand a message.

5. Elucidat

Elucidat is a stronger fit for larger companies that need consistency across many courses.

That problem usually appears after several departments start creating training. Sales builds one style. HR writes another way. Operations uses long PDFs. Compliance sounds completely different. Soon, the training library feels uneven.

Elucidat helps with templates, brand control, shared workflows, and review steps. That can help large teams keep training cleaner when many people are involved.

For a small team, it may feel like more structure than needed. For a larger business with many departments creating learning, that structure can prevent the course library from becoming hard to manage.

The Quick Fit

Tool Best fit
Easygenerator Managers and experts are turning internal knowledge into training
Articulate 360 Polished courses with custom design
iSpring Suite Reusing PowerPoint-based training
Adobe Captivate Software simulations and technical workflows
Elucidat Large teams that need templates and control

What Managers Should Choose

The best tool depends on what is slowing training down.

If the knowledge is stuck with busy managers or subject experts, Easygenerator is a strong fit. If the company needs highly designed courses, Articulate 360 may suit better. If most training lives in PowerPoint, iSpring can help. If staff need to practice software steps, Captivate makes sense. If many departments create courses, Elucidat can bring more control.

Managers do not need another platform that makes training feel bigger than the problem. They need a tool that helps staff understand the work, make fewer mistakes, and move with the business as it changes.
